Friday Mess

Zara top, Zara fringe boots, Versace leather jacket, Topshop Headband, Accessorize tights.
Our flat has been ridiculously messy for the last month so we booked a cleaner for 4 hours and left her to tackle our seasonal clutter. This gave us time to have a long lesiurely lunch and some random browsing around Portobello Market. One of my favorite things about living in Notting Hill is the market, and aside from the amazing fresh fruit and vegtables, I am obsessed with Friday's vintage market. Perfect eye candy!!

Shopping and Cocktailing

The shops on Oxford Street were far crazier than expected (i thought this was a recession?) but I still managed to browse around the enormous Topshop before joining a friend for dinner. I rarely venture to 'central' London and prefer to circulate my usual haunts in Notting Hill and Chelsea, but it was refreshing to see people en masse once again. I tend to find the city slightly lonely in January. Purchases include: variety of accessories (mostly tribal and studded), grey 'lantern' skirt, and the most perfect caged shoe boots. All items to be on show in near future.
Whilst swerving my way home via bus, I phoned the boy and we decided to meet at our favorite weeknight beverage stop before heading home. The E&O serves taste bud friendly food from the east and shakes my favorite lychee martini. I highly recommend as a venue for people watching. Think everything from wealthy women in full length fur and gaudy jewellery, to boho locals in beaten up combats and headbands, to designer clad fashion editors, and drunken bankers in suits.

I want you...

Love this shirt. I think I can borrow one from the boy that is similar. His collection seems to be ever growing. Off to go shopping...looking for studded cuffs and Topshop 'Rex' sandals/ankleboots. Outfit post later!

Sunny Days

Whilst holed up in my cozy Notting Hill flat, avoiding the scary weather outside, I start to ponder where I would vacation this year. Looking at the Coachella pics, I have decided I too want to be one of the bare legged, RayBan wearing, tanned folk frolicking around the grassy fields, swaying and drinking to good music. Sienna has always been one of my favorite fashion icons (more pre- Jude break-up, boho days than now) and I absolutely love the way she pulls off festival wear. Especially the Vivienne Westwood boots! Oh to go to a festival that will never rain!

I will wear this Elizabeth and James hooded dress with a pair of studded gladiator sandals, large Ray Ban aviators, and piles of brightly coloured bracelets and bangles.

Childish Antics

After reminiscing about my fashion choices as a child, I went with the mood and selected a full skirted silk chiffon dress to wear to Sunday lunch. The Topshop Unique dress had the ability to transform me into part Parisian doll, part girl next door (not Playboy variation), but when accessorized correctly it was just my style. Once fully dressed,I excitedly exited the flat preparing for some girly photo ops. Little did I know I would be confronted by a full on rain storm. Following several moments of childish pouting, we retreated back to our hallway to take some pics before braving the aggressive London weather. My mood picked up as I skipped through large puddles holding my oversized, Mary Poppins style umbrella. Upon entering the Electric Brassiere I noticed my dress was now speckled with raindrops, and my feet were drenched and cold from over zealous puddle hopping. I didn’t let this or the rain ruin my mood, but continued to wait for our table, swinging my feet at the bar whilst devouring a glass of white wine. As I looked down I realized I kind of missed the flat mary-janes, paired with ruffled ankle socks, which I wore religiously through my single digit years.

Paint Job

I ran into a lot of graffiti this weekend so I took advantage and used it as a backdrop for a few pics! We managed to get in one shot before an entourage of kids felt the need to join the fun. Shortly after we found safety in the very crowded and dark Montgomery Place. I instantly craved a mojito after spotting the copious amounts of lime and mint behind the bar. Following a certain amount of shuffling and standing, we managed to sneak a table and sat down to a much needed bottle of Chardonnay.

I'm getting into the habit of wearing black bodycon and fur jacket on most nights out. Will try to mix it up next weekend and maybe throw in a bit of colour or chiffon. Off to get ready for my Sunday Lunch :-) Hope you guys enjoy your Sundays! xoxo

Grey Day

The weather has been especially gloomy, so when I saw a small ray of sunshine trickling through the clouds we decided to take a few impromptu photos. I even kept my jacket off for a few freezing minutes so I could pretend the little bit of sun actually carried some warmth.

Cocktails at Midnight

Last night we escaped the cold and ventured to the beach. Well not exactly the beach, but a bar called Beach Blanket Babylon. The name is slightly ironic since the bar does not posses any resemblance to a beachside location. Either way it is one of my most coveted haunts in Notting Hill, part French boudoir, part Tuscan dungeon. The decor trickles class and eccentricity, and the barstaff concoct the most addictive cocktails. You must try their watermelon martini and I was giddy when I noticed “Vogue” written into my foamy “French Kiss Martini.”

Sundays

I know it is only Wednesday, but the week has been pretty stressful and I am already looking forward to our Sunday routine...a glimpse of last Sunday.

She awakes in a slight haze, the remnants of her overly social Saturday. She has slumbered through breakfast as usual, but is eagerly anticipating her Sunday routine. After stumbling over last night's towering gladiator heels and slipping on her black knit bodycon dress, she finally manages to reach the bathroom. She glances into the large mirror and expertly smudges the remaining eyeliner bordering her thick lashes. She proceeds to revive her slept in hair using an excessive amount of dry shampoo and a glistening halo of shine spray. Her black opaque tights are located on the floor with its usual sprinkling of puppy fur. She dusts off as much as possible vowing this will be the week she purchases a much needed lint brush. Her eyes settle on her favorite shiny skirt, pairing it with the same tri-blend tank she wore to bed. After layering another grey cotton piece over her outfit, she runs down the stairs declaring her readiness to him. Her ensemble is complete after she wraps a thick cashmere pashmina around her neck, slides into her buttersoft vintage Versace biker jacket, ties the laces on her suede fringe boots, and mists a sprinkling of Matthew Williamson's scent over her hair. She trots onto the Portobello Road, slinging her cherry red Chanel bag over her shoulder heading towards the same place they go every Sunday.

Rock Crush

I have a slight obsession for rock heiresses. I'm not sure if it's the uniform messy hair, smudgy eyeliner, and laid back attitude, or the thought of having a rocker Father and supermodel Mother that intrigues me. Either way I am always under the assumption that each rock heiress must live the most hedonistic life. Vacationing in the bohemian parts of Ibiza, residing in oversized Lower Eastside lofts with excessive amounts of closet space, and of course partying into the early hours at each Capitol's most exclusive parties. My favorites include Lizzy and Georgia Jagger, Theodora and Alexandra Richards, but my all time rock daughter muse has to be Zoe Kravitz. Born from the beautiful Lisa Bonet and rock legend Lenny Kravitz, Zoe oozes the perfect combination of urban New York and 1960's hippie. She styles with a careless abandonment that every girl should possess. You are never sure if each ensemble is a result of playing "dress-up" out of an antique trunk or picked straight off the hottest catwalks. She has stated that her mum, dad, and herself live in Rick Owens tanks and her favorite designers are Chloe, Chanel, and Stella McCartney. A girl after my own heart!

In the Morning...

She sleeps upon a bed of snow white Egyptian cotton. She awakes to the smell of a foamy cappuccino. Her clothes are strewn across the room in a haphazard manner. Over the bed post, piled on the floor, clusters of floral chiffon, worn denim, shiny leggings, quilted handbags, and buttersoft ankle boots. She makes her way down the stairs in a tri-blend American Apparel tank and cashmere ballet slippers, her long, thick hair twisted into a loose messy bun. Her Macbook finds its way into her lap, while she consumes a generous cappuccino and absorbs her favorite fashion blogs. After her usual morning routine she settles upon an outfit, today something cozy. An over sized flannel shirt, torn denim mini, opaque tights, and her most comfortable pair of ankle boots. She stuffs all her necessities into a well worn Chloe Paddington before embarking on a day of coffee and shop hopping.
