he's just not that into it 2
Asos dress and belt, New Look patent ankle boots

So, the boy and I do not agree on this little ruffly number. For some reason I find the large tiers, silky draped material, and bright colour incredibly alluring. Plus when purchased it really reminded me of the fabulous ruffles Lanvin showcased in their S/S 08 collection. But for some reason the boy is not convinced and insists I look like a comedic cupcake with long legs. I have now resulted to only wearing it on girls nights out. Oh well, at least he said he liked the long leg part :-)

Please excuse the slightly scraggly hair. In a moment of bad judgement I decided it would be a good day to not brush my hair, even though I'm in dire need of a slight trim and root touch-up. I'll try to get that taken care of before the next post!

Topshop grey bodycon skirt, American Apparel tank, New Look patent ankle boots

I got this fantastic grey bodycon skirt at Topshop last week. It fits like a glove and possesses a satisfying exposed back zip. The pictures don't manage to do the Leger-like paneling justice. I was being slightly lazy yesterday, therefore didn't feel inspired to tuck in my tank, and show off the amazing high-waisted shape, but will be doing further experimenting in future!

The boy and are haphazardly stuffing our worldly possessions into random bags and boxes, and preparing for our move tomorrow. A decision was made to downsize so we are relocating into a much smaller, but far nicer flat up the road. Can't wait for the packing part to be over!

Twenty8Twelve A/W 2009

I have always had a sweet spot for Sienna Miller and find her and Savannah's line, Twenty8Twelve, incredibly alluring and wearable. After scoping out images on Style.com, I quickly dubbed their A/W 2009 as my absolute favorite they have showcased thus far. Amazingly described by the very cute duo as "Pirates of the road meets Grace Jones," the collection provides an accessible, stylish mix of ditsy dresses, rock wear, with the perfect bohemian touch. How can you not love cut off shorts paired with a chunky cardigan, a super mini floral dress worn with a beaten leather jacket, black bodycon showcasing extreme sheer panels, and studded ankle boots? And look how cute they are together? Ah makes me wish for a sister of my own!

Missoni/Rodarte?

River Island cardigan, Topshop Unique asymmetrical top, American Apparel wet look skirt, Zara gladiator heels, Topshop and Kabiri bangles, Topshop earrings.

This printed knit cardigan is my favorite cover-up for those windy, slightly chilly, pseudo summer evenings we seem to get incessantly in London. When purchased it reminded me of Missoni print, but I've recently been contemplating the possibility of taking some scissors and making it slightly more Rodarte inspired. I am hopeless at DIY so this will probably never happen, but it is a thought.

We ventured out of London for the weekend, but didn't manage to take any decent photos, which is a shame seeing as I wore two outfits I really wanted to share! Hopefully I will recreate the moments sometime this week :-)

Hope all of you had lovely weekends!

The weather has been slightly less chilly (I mean slightly), but the tiny increase encouraged me to bare my shoulders in this Topshop x-ray tee. I instantly spotted it on the website and was incredibly enticed by the cutout shoulders and unique print. Paired with my straw fedora I almost felt beach ready, if you don't count the 100 den black tights and absence of gladiator sandals. Oh well, summer will come one day.

I am wearing my Steve Madden ankle boots excessively at the moment, but they are by far my most comfortable pair of heels, therefore the only option when treking around town. I need a fab pair of flat ankle boots. Maybe Docs, maybe these?

Layered Up

Vintage white half slip, Plaid shirt from Hong Kong boutique, Vintage Versace biker jacket, Necklaces from River Island men's section and Georj Jensen, H&M 100 den tights

The cold weather and constant layers are seriously putting me in a drab mood. The boy and I are considering (dreaming of) a move to warmer climates. Any recommendations? We thought Los Angeles or San Diego, somewhere with minimum rain, high temperatures, preferably on a beach, with optimum shopping, seductive bars, and laid back restaurants with delectable food. Are we asking for too much? :-)

P.S. Sorry about the poor photo quality. I'm waiting for pay day so I can replace my beloved camera I stupidly lost. Pics will soon return to 10 mp, Canon photo quality.

Jill Stuart

Alexander Wang, Herve Leger, Preen, and Acne have all been my obvious favorites so far during New York Fashion Week, but Jill Stuart is quickly becoming a surprising front runner. I have always found myself more of a skirt over trouser girl, so these feminine, girly styles, with an added hard rock edge, slots perfectly into my ideal look. The enticing textures of lace, leather, and silk are perfectly topped with messy bedhead hair and velvet fedoras. A wardrobe fit for a rock princess.

XOXO

Zara floral dress, H&M cardigan, Accessorize tights, Steve Madden ankle boots, bangles from presents and Portobello Market

Did everyone have a lovely weekend and Valentine's Day? I'm not really into holidays and all the traditions that come along with them. I don't sigh and smile at cards, spend hours perfectly wrapping my presents, or use extravagant festive decor. This may be due to my lack of organization and slight laziness, but I do love celebrating excessively with those that I love, and anything that honors happiness and amour is a holiday worth an immense festivity.

The boy and I spend our lives circulating restaurants, and have at least three candlelit dinners a week, so when it came to Valentine's Day we did not know how to celebrate 'differently.' After much musing we settled upon a slight splurge on bubbly and cuisine, whilst hiding away with candles and great music in our chateau. The lack of venturing out resulted in a slightly boring outfit...Hope all of you celebrated in style with friends or your loved one!

A Night in Paradise

Topshop sequined vest, Urban Outfitters tank, American Apparel wet look skirt, New Look patent ankle boots, Vintage fur, Jewellery from Topshop, Kabiri, and vintage.

We spent the evening venturing slightly further than our usual neighborhood to a spot that is very much worth the trek. Only a short bus journey away, nestled between a strip of nondescript shops, along the grungy road towards Kilburn lies Paradise (Paradise by way of Kensal Green). This ultra luxe pub/dining room is the the perfect hideaway from the winter cold with its inviting antique fireplaces and warm, tastebud friendly food. As I stumbled into the dimly lit venue, I noticed many locals of Notting Hill also visiting the randomly placed pub. It seems the secret is out...a must try if you are ever in the area.

I tried to part with my fuzzy coat for several seconds to get some semi-decent photos of my entire outfit. As you can see, I look very upset sans coat and all smiles again once reunited!

Downpour

Vintage half slip, Topshop Boutique blazer, Necklace from Portobello Market, Bangles from H&M, Portobello Market, and Kabiri, Zara gladiator heels, H&M 100 den tights

I have a relatively large collection of vintage half slips and find them irresistibly versatile. I wear them as tops, dresses, or used as a layering piece. On this particular day, feeling inspired by the classic Stella McCartney, I decided to pair one with a chic masculine blazer and very high heels.
The weather has been annoyingly schizophrenic lately so we only managed a few photos on the balcony before an attack of torrential rain and sleet hit our sunny day. Fear of facing the weather caused us to hole up inside our cozy lunch spot and consume copious amounts of wine and conversation. Overall an afternoon well spent.

Love is in the Air

wedding1

wedding2

Alexander Wang dress, Steve Madden boots

I don't think there is anything sweeter than watching a glowing bride, glide down the aisle with a look of excitement and anticipation in her eyes. I find weddings enticing, a look into a pair's values, taste, and traditions, and as I am at an age when many of my friends are getting engaged I love witnessing their stylish choices.

Saturday's wedding was incredibly cute and ridiculous amounts of fun. Having chosen a small gathering, the event was intimate and carefree, and with a reception dominated by a large group of 20-somethings the celebration quickly became a rambunctious reunion. Overall there was copious amounts of drinking, loving conversations, and smiles in abundance. I was enjoying myself so much I didn't even cry when a glass of red wine was spilt down the front of my Alexander Wang dress. Hopefully my dry cleaner can do something about that!

And here is a peek at me on my wedding day a little while back. I was wearing an Elie Saab dress in unbelievably hot weather.

Chained Up

American Apparel U-neck dress, Topshop chain necklace, bangles from Portobello Market, H&M, and Kabiri.

The saddest day of my life was Thursday :-( I accidentally left my red Chanel bag in a taxi containing all my prized possessions, including my lovely new camera. I'm devastated and still hoping someone will be nice enough to return it!

The boy is from Brighton so we are here for the weekend. We managed to snap some mediocre pictures in our drunken state, with a camera that is not mine. I'm going to try and take more photos around town. Brighton is actually a very bohemian and pretty English town, but its seaside location makes it far more desirable in the summer months.
We're off to a wedding today and I'm wearing this beautiful dress!

Wishing you all a wonderful Saturday!

The thing about city snow is it lasts for about a day before it becomes gray clumps of ice. I experienced this a lot during my University years in Boston. Snow is beautiful, but ice on the other hand only serves the purpose of limiting shoe options. I am making sensible shoe choices until the sidewalks have returned to stiletto stomping conditions.

Snow Day

She peeks out the window at her bedside. Little fluttery flakes floating towards the ground. A fluffy patch has already began to settle, and the anticipation bubbles. Her slumber is met by dreams of snowmen and hot cocoa next to a fire, watching a blizzard outdoors. She awakens to the sound of laughter and eagerly peers outside at the snow covered rooftops and streets. She dresses rapidly, grabbing her black skinny jeans and several black tops to layer under her vintage faux fur coat. She finishes it off with a gold headband, fit for a snow princess. She exits quickly, craving her hot cocoa and looking forward to a stroll in a rarely snowy London.
