Fast Forward

Tosphop crop top, Topshop skirt, Matalan shoes, H&M bangles, Dior Saddle bag

It seems someone must have pressed the fast forward button at the begininng of my week. Each day seems like a busy blur, and not one minute was spent lining my eyes, or wearing anything remotely blog worthy. Luckily I have returned to my fashion forward best, and worked my new Topshop crop top into Friday night's outfit.

London has redeemed itself and I am very proud she is presenting us with her beautiful, summer day potential. The future looks bright and sunny.

Off to a picnic with the boy and the dog. Hope you are all enjoying your Saturdays!

Masked Identity

AA sheer mesh dress and bodysuit, H&M necklace, Lace mask via ebay.

My fashion adventurous side was feeling extra dominant on Saturday night, and insisted on making a daring appearance. The casual Saturday night agenda was swiftly ignored, as she pretended her attire would be debuted at a masked, rock concert. Her choices included a mysterious lace mask, an outrageously sheer dress, and the most passionate of red lipsticks. She trawled down alleys fulfilling her dark mood, ready to sway to her own beat.
I look forward to her next emergence.

On the Third Day

Vintage Wrangler vest, H&M sheer tank, New Look skirt, H&M bangles, Topshop necklace, Vintage Wrangler boots.

Three day weekends generally include a mandatory visit to Brighton for quality time with the boy's family and friends. Brighton displays itself as an exceedingly enjoyable bohemian town as soon as the sun shines, so when the weather permits sunbathing on the balcony, our visits usually start with a one night intention, and end with returning at the weekend's finale. Being the hottest UK weekend of the year, our one night party became breakfast with mimosas, which lead to a Sunday roast outdoors, that ended with evening cocktails beachside. You won't be surprised to hear I napped all Monday, and just awoke at 7pm to peruse the internet, and buy several new arrivals from the ever enticing Topshop.com. Now off to watch a line-up of guilty pleasure television, and gorge on fare from our local pizzeria. Hope you all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend!

El Final

Top outfit: AA grey tank, Topshop skirt, Diesel scarf, Miss Selfridge headband, H&M bangles.
Bottom outfit: Dress was gift from a friend, Diesel scarf, Kookai belt, Miu Miu sunglasses.

The time has come for me to let go of our sunny holiday and accept my return to rainy London. In hopes of disintegrating my constant daydreams of beaches and clear blue skies, I am posting my outfits from our last day in Barcelona. We will revert back to London outfits posts starting tomorrow. In further depressing revelations, I have recently discovered I may not be able to depart towards sunnier destinations for a month, or two, or maybe even three! As you can see, I am not fond of large time frames. You never realize how often you travel and vacation until it is stolen from your options. Lets all hope for an exceedingly scorching English summer.

The last photo is of my bro's outfit. He's wearing Diesel Black Gold tee, Topman dog tags, vintage style Timex watch, Neighborhood (Japanese street label) jeans, and Louis Vuitton belt. (The jeans and belt are not shown.)

wish you were here...

Both bikinis, Missoni.

Your feet sink lightly into the impressible, warm granules. A warm breeze tickles your bare skin as you stroll dreamily to a desirable resting place. The warmth embraces you, as your body settles in the smooth, soft sand. The cloudless sky glances down, while the sound of lapping sea waves lull you into a light slumber.

I love nothing more than a day at the beach. These were only taken last week and I'm already experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Less than a month until I visit the shores of the French Riviera.

Unexpected Pleasure

Tee from Fairfax Market, H&M skirt, Vintage Wrangler boots, H&M Hat

Our first day of vacation was a little bit more than disastrous. Traffic, lack of GPS, and being unaware of the fact that you must pre-pay for checked baggage on Ryanair, caused us to miss our flight. We were forced to camp at the airport and spend £10 on internet, trying desperately to keep entertained for six hours. The rain then decided to accompany us, and make an unwelcome visit to sunny Barcelona. Luckily the boy and I are experts at making a less than perfect situation into a fun adventure. On this particular day we meandered through narrow streets, allowing the rain to drizzle upon our uncovered heads, occasionally ducking into a bar or cafe when we got slightly drenched. Wine was sipped, tapas were consumed at several locations, and a wet map was consulted when we circled a square more than once. We ended up slightly dizzy, but very happy to be away from home, and hoping the sun would return the following day. Luckily it did!

My new favorite everyday boots! Vintage Wrangler via Ebay cost only...wait for it... £11!!

it has been awhile...

H&M top, Topshop shorts, Topshop hat, H&M bangles, Missoni bikini, Gucci Sunglasses
I somehow managed to lose the hat at the beach :-(

Hello all, sorry about the slight break in blogging. Internet access at our hotel was non-existent, and our efforts to leave the beach and deal with reality were slightly disappointing. Although our trip had a stressful start (we managed to miss our flight) we couldn't have had more fun. Some lessons learned on our delightful holiday:

  • Don't fly Ryanair.
  • Sangria can be drunk all day long.
  • Constantly apply sunblock to your nose.
  • Avoid restaurants that employ people who stand outside and entice confused tourists.
  • If you accidentally get enticed and realize the atmosphere is beyond depressing, it's not too late to change your mind. Leave!
  • Tequila shots are essential to a night out with your brother and the boy.
  • Sometimes beach time gets in the way of shopping. (I will return and properly check out the fashion Barcelona has to offer!)
  • 5 days really isn't enough!
I promise to make up for the lack of blogging with plenty of updates this week. Ridiculous amounts of photos were taken, and I will definitely be sharing.

a few nights back...

We spent Friday night in a dizzy state, consuming red wine and steak, tasting a vast variety of cocktails, and hopping around to various bars in the Soho area. This is the only photo we remembered to take. The dress is vintage and only $20 from ebay. When Balmain's lace dress, from the A/W 08 collection sashayed down the catwalk, I knew I would need one (or an exact replica). At that time, the numerous Topshop, Forever 21, other high street knock offs had not yet hit stores, so I resorted to digging through ebay listings for the perfect lace LBD. I fell in love instantly when I spotted this backless, 3/4 sleeve piece. A definite wardrobe staple.

We are off to reunite with my bro in Barcelona tomorrow!
Expect outfit pics on the beach and in the sun!

Glow in the Dark

Topshop dress, H&M bangles, Steve Madden boots

Two days of recovery and detox has begun. After a vigourous few days full of drinking, eating, vintage shopping, and socialising with my brother, the boy and I are taking a break. A ridiculously short break before our departure to Barcelona. I am now a vegan, non-drinker, who lives at the gym, but don't worry it will all be over on Wednesday.

The past few nights are a blurred mess, but this dress stands out in my memory. I do enjoy being wrapped up in glowing bodycon. Available in Topshop stores now!

Sibling Antics

Vintage slip, H&M bangles, scarf from Portobello Market, vintage necklaces.

My brother decided to take over camera duties last night, and used his super compact Canon to capture a few essential moments. The three of us traipsed around Notting Hill, devoured treats at Electric Brasserie, sipped cocktails in various locations, and snapped away in between.

I'm off to on a shopping expedition with my brother now! He was voted 'best dressed' at his high school (he wore Topman to prom), and I always credit myself for pulling out the fashion demon within him. A few years back, he would literally only set foot in a shop once a year, when I forced him. We would then purchase an ocean of outfits to last him until his next visit. He now spends most of his paycheck on Japanese streetwear, reads fashion blogs, and counts Raf Simons and Comme Des Garcons as his favorite designers. One stylish boy!

I have listed some goodies on ebay. Check it all out here! Items include, Antik Batik beaded dress, Topshop jewel detail top, Zara tribal wedges, D&G white dress, Kookai sheer kaftan, Asos pink ruffle dress, and many more!! Please ignore whatever the boy is selling...I will be opening my own ebay account very soon.

Just Another Day

Customized Topshop top, AA wet look skirt, Aldo boots, Topshop necklace, Urban Outfitters bra, Vintage bangles

I have had a slightly hectic afternoon. It all started with my tiny disagreement with a spin instructor (they can be really hardcore and mean at times!), and ended with me cuddled up on the bed with my puppy, anticipating my brother's arrival. In between, I missed a vital doctor's appointment, ran into a friend for coffee, sat in a crammed bus for an hour, and found my way to Topshop for a quick pick-me-up shopping session. Somehow I managed to fit in some camera action. Think the boy and I are about to indulge in some pizza and wine.
