Night Owl

AA sexualitee, H&M skirt, Topman hat, Topshop necklace, Matalan shoes, Dior saddle bag, H&M bangles.

I'm growing slightly attached to this Topman hat. It is so often the perfect finishing touch, and covers up a bad hair day like a charm.

My already lazy personality becomes further lethargic as the weather heats up. I sway towards loose, light fabrics, and prefer to spend my days napping under sunlight, whilst sipping fruit filled beverages. The gym disappears from radar, and is replaced with an inviting white sheet over grass, and a towering stack of magazines.

My current favorites:
Waitrose gazpacho soup
Gossip Girl books
afternoon naps
blueberry, raspberry, and strawberry fruit salad
Prosecco
American Apparel sexualitee

I can't really deal with listing stuff on Ebay, so come check out all the stuff I'm selling in Shop FashionHedonism! I'll be adding things daily this week, so keep checking back!

Shine Shine Shine

Zara dress, Topshop sandals.

The sun is shining, the skin is tanned, the dresses are flowing, and the prosecco is being sipped. Life is good. There is nothing more enjoyable than lazing on a friends balcony, consuming too much wine whilst laughing in the London heat. Sometimes all we need is a love, but I am a strong believer that all we need is sun, and lots of it!

Sidewalk Social

Topshop top, vintage Levis skirt, Topman hat, Balenciaga bag, Zara heels.
(If anyone knows how to clean a white leather Balenciaga bag, and can help me make it white again, I would be eternally grateful!)

Yesterday's afternoon sunshine was far too delicious to resist. The boy and I grabbed the puppy and planted ourselves in our favorite sidewalk spot, right outside the local pub. Wine was slowly sipped, legs were tanned, friends were made, and water was consumed straight out of the ice bucket (by the dog).

Today the boy and I are attending a slightly hesitant blast from his past. Wish him luck!

Sale Away

Kat Moss for Topshop blouse, AA wet look skirt, Forever 21 shoes

I'm enthralled by the sales going on at the moment, but have not found a spare afternoon to really browse and accumulate. My fingers briefly grazed a pair of nude patent Louboutins today, which caused a slight chill to trickle up my spine. Is £357 at 50% off still too much?

An Unconventional Truth

Urban Outfitters dress, Zara shoes, H&M bangles and necklace.

The boy and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary last night. During the first years of our relationships, we like other 'normal' couples, exchanged mushy cards, mused for hours over an appropriate present, and dropped, what we thought were obvious, hints hoping to get exactly what we wanted. After married life commenced, the boy and I sunk into our very unconventional, far from traditional, and incredibly dreamy marriage.

Here are a few of our personal traditions:

  • No cards allowed. Don't expect one, don't want one. (a kiss in the morning can give you the same warm feeling, and may save several trees!)
  • No flowers. ( I would rather have a vanilla candle or red nail polish please!)
  • A shopping trip together to replace gift exchanging at major holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries. (We spend hours purchasing an abundance of clothes, accessories, and home stuff. It's far more enjoyable to have a blast together, and get exactly what we want).
  • Always, ALWAYS celebrate with lots of champagne and a fabulous meal out.
  • Dinner at home should never be in front of the television. Always light candles, put on music, and eat two courses.
  • Sunday lunch is just as important as a Saturday night out. (maybe more important)

Our fabulous meal out was had at Nozomi last night. We feasted upon delicious Japanese cuisine, white wine, champagne, and sampled an interesting Japanese mojito. I highly recommend this venue for a lively, chic atmosphere, and amazing food that does not come in minuscule portions. The night was ended, as always, at our preferred local bar, E&O. Our favorite bartenders served up a special treat, and all our cocktails were on the house in honor of our two year marriage.

Room for One

Chloe jacket, AA tank, skirt from boutique in Covent Garden, Kabiri bangle, and vintage necklace.

I'm slightly grateful for a night in, all by my lonesome. Sometimes I take for granted the fact that the boy is always happily by my side, and we are sickeningly blissful. There is always someone if you need to giggle, share a random thought, crave a hug, or don't feel like getting out of bed for a glass of water. But there are other times when a girl wants to sit on her own, watching her favorite shows, painting her nails, while wearing a green face mask.

So for tonight, my "me" night in, these are my favorite things:
green tea. gossip girl. elemis face masks. browsing through iphoto. topshop.com. jalouse magazine. twitter. carrot sticks. puppy kisses. red nail polish. vintage on ebay. cashmere blankets. apple juice. and a tummy full of spaghetti bolognese.

The pics are from the only day I was out of my pyjamas, and looked close to presentable this week. Tomorrow my roots will be filled in, a new dress will arrive on my doorstep, and I will be holding a passion fruit martini in one hand, and the boy's hand in the other.

Shake it!

Topshop tunic, H&M bangles

There are times when you need to release every worry and dance like you mean it. Usually after several tequila shots, a run through scattered rainfall, and a random visit to a bar that only plays classic Britney.

And on those stressful Fridays, when you yearn for the clock to hit 5, so you you can fully relax and start partying, but know you have absolutely nothing to wear (we've all been there), I think I may have an answer...

I have recently discovered online shopping paradise at iStylista. This unique style site offers the latest designer collections, with a free online personal shopping service that is at your service from your very own laptop. They have collaborated with some of my favorite online shopping stops, such as my-wardrobe, Matches, and, Start for the perfect, fashionista worthy picks. They are life savers on days when you want something new for a party and don't have a spare second to stop into Topshop, or browse through endless websites. A free personal stylefile can be created within minutes, and you are a few clicks away from handpicked pieces that suit your style, age, and body type.
My favorite pick so far: an Alice McCall convertible singlet dress.

One Hot Day

All Saints Men's shirt, H&M tank, vintage Levi's denim skirt, Balenciaga bag, New Look wedges

Ridiculously hot Sundays in Notting Hill can be the most satisfying addition to my weekend. The boy and I strolled down Kensington Park Road, located the perfect outdoor table at our preferred Italian eatery, basked in the surprisingly scorching sunlight whilst sipping wine, and munched on olive oil drizzled seafood. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, and didn't leave our cozy table until sunset.

All that Glitters

Topshop Jacket, AA Tank, Topshop Skirt, vintage necklace, Steve Madden boots

My head is swirling from long drives, flustered meetings, stressful applications, and hopes of a holiday next week. The relief of Friday never felt so utterly satisfying. One more errand, and my weekend will officially commence. I think a spot of shopping is necessary to ease into a suitably relaxed mood.

When this very perfect jacket popped up on several blog posts, I knew I had to have it. The allure became stronger when a close encounter took place at Topshop. Nothing could stop me from snagging my size and zooming towards a cash register. She is brighter, lighter, shinier, and more comfortable than you can imagine.

Happy Friday!

Walk like a Man

Topman hat, Topman customized tee, Topshop Unique blazer, Topshop skirt, Vintage Wrangler boots

A shopping trip with the boy will almost always inadvertently end up with me acquiring several items of menswear. The occurrence is slightly unexpected seeing as I thrive on a feminine look, to the point where I have an extreme aversion to trousers, jeans, or any sort of pant. I can sleep in my tights and stockings, and often traipse about bare-legged in the coldest climates, but pants scare me. I'm not on a mission to sex up every outfit with my legs, but it is honestly what I find to be the most comfortable option. Being buttoned into trousers restricts my movements. My freedom feels stripped, and I find myself walking, sitting, even standing differently. This may sound slightly drastic, and I, like any other fashion lover, will be swayed to squeeze myself into a pair of uber tight skinny jeans, but that day will be a day full of complaints.

Saying this, the boy has helped me discover my love for everything else menswear related, and how much fun can be had when worn like a man. The shirts are loose, messy, and often better wrinkly, the tees are suitable to be worn from bed to day and bed again, and the most classic of hats look best dressed down. Of course many men are crisp, neat, and suited, but definitely not my All Saints addicted, scruffy, tanned, torn jeans wearing, wouldn't mind sleeping on the beach boy, and that is just the way I like it.

No Photos Allowed

Herve Leger dress,Topshop shoes, earrings, and bangle.

Apparently it is strictly forbidden to snap photos in a casino. In my many visits to Las Vegas, never had I noticed this ultra-important rule. The boy and bff's birthday fiesta lasted into the early hours, and ended with a McDonald's breakfast, but unfortunately most of the festivities were not captured on film. This reality is a great shame, seeing as last night was the debut of my beloved Herve Leger dress. A few rushed shots were taken before leaving home, but these definitely do not show the true beauty, and fit of my very favorite dress. There is always next time...

Off to Sunday lunch with the boy, and a party leftover who crashed on our kitchen floor. Have a sunny Sunday!

xoxo
