she pauses for a passing thought...

Zara vest, dress from random boutique in Hong Kong.

Here are a few of my disposable camera pics from Paris. I'm kinda enjoying the vintage effect.

Life can be slightly guilt inducing at the best of times. This blog, rightfully named Fashion Hedonism, documents my love for all things fashion related and my indulgently hedonistic lifestyle. I must admit, I have an extreme penchant for doing only that which pleases me. I search for the moments that will satisfy my cravings in the present, not considering the consequences of the future. I yearn to reside permanently in my early 20's, with an unlined innocent seeming face, the stamina to party for nights on end, the tolerance to live in a heap of mess, and a complete disrespect for strict schedules. There are times I do wonder when I will tire of waking at any hour I please, existing in absolute comfort, and possess enough single mindedness to ignore problems until the situation is dire. For now, it is barely a passing thought, but there are flashes of contemplation when I stop to truly swim in the luck and bliss I have been granted, as I know we can not remain forever young.

she will have one of each please...

Peter Dundas' Pucci S/S 2010 collection truly caught my attention and successfully won me over. Each piece encompasses everything I would wish for in a spring/summer wardrobe. Flowing sheer chiffon, playful clingy body con, oversize aviators paired with bright raffia bags, nude swimwear, ultra high gladiator booties, and sheer and sequins in abundance. He added just enough rich colour, and complimented with muted pinks, and plenty of nudes. The hippy, dishevelled centre part made for a satisfying finishing touch. My dream wardrobe for our summers in the south of France. Now to save for one of everything.

she contemplates why the method was ever disposable...

Topshop waistcoat, AA tank, New Look skirt, H&M hat, Matalan shoes.

I seem to be prone to internet or camera issues when abroad. The boy and I somehow managed to bring the wrong camera charger along with us, and our tight schedules did not allow for time to pick up another battery. Our genius solution was to purchase the most simplistic disposable camera in an overpriced tourist shop, which enabled us to document effectively in 27 shots. The experience was slightly nostalgic and surprisingly entertaining. I think I may purchases a few disposables just for novelty sake. The only downside is you actually have to go somewhere and get the film developed, so until that is done this evening, here is an outfit from a few months ago I forgot to post.

Will post Paris pics tomorrow!

she desires a speedy recovery...

Miss Selfridge dress, Topshop Boutique blazer, Topshop boots.

My version of the Alexander Wang side braid, a recession friendly way to follow a trend. Literally took me 30 seconds, and was an extremely easy solution to my lack of hair dryer dilemma. And while we're on the money saving subject, this dress is on sale at Miss Selfridge for £12. With the perfect Alexander Wang-esque draping, bodycon shape, and suprisingly effective lining, it is definitely a must have.

I am experiencing a stupidly uncomfortable head cold while hanging out in the South of France. Please make it go away! I despise being ill in hot weather :-(

she stared in a state of amazement...

Topshop boutique blazer, Topshop necklace and boots, random slip dress, H&M bracelets.

Despite my extreme hangover and dizzy mood, I succeeded in dragging the boy and I to the Qasimi after-show party on Sunday at private club, Bureau. The boy went a little canape crazy, we all sipped champagne, managed to down a few shots, and met the incredibly nice designer. I prefer not to pick favourites, but this collection captured my heart. Structured armour worthy shoulders, whimsical ultra-thin chiffon paired with gold corseting, hardware embellishments in abundance, and the best extra short metallic, statement dress I am dying to own. Qasimi are definitely a hidden treasure preparing to infatuate fashionistas across the world.

she was amused by the comical drama...

All Saints dress, vintage faux fur.

I'm pretty enamoured by this fuzzy coat I acquired via Ebay for an absurdly cheap price. It was the star of the party last night, and even managed to outshine the birthday boy. Numerous offers were made to purchase my only protection from the cold, and at one point I turned around to discover a girl wearing and stroking the faux fur. I plan on getting it dry cleaned today.

As promised, here are some pics from our front row seat at Aminaka Wilmont. London Fashion Week is famous for provocative, unwearable, and exciting designers, but it was refreshing to view a collection that was as wearable as it was inspirational. Each piece was perfectly draped, and swathed the body creating a flattering silhouette. My favourite looks were the second skin, draped silk mini-dresses, and I was captivated by the shreds of leather which wrapped, and expertly accented the darker pieces. I definitely hope to be wearing one of these next Spring.

she was enveloped in the cloud of excitement...

Zara Jacket, vintage sheer blouse over Topshop navy corset bra and bandage skirt, H&M bracelets, Matalan shoes, Rolex watch, and Chloe Paddington.

The boy and I headed riverside yesterday to attend a few shows at Somerset House, the new venue for London Fashion Week. After teetering across the cobblestone entrance, sipping a glass of champagne, and being photographed by street style photographers, we were lucky enough to be seated front row at Bora Asku to witness his fairytale collection.

The models, with ethereal braided hair and shimmering pale skin, stalked down the runway showcasing intricate, sequin embellished tights, gold detailed Victorian jackets with shaped shoulders, pale lace dresses, effectively placed satin bows, and billowing see-through trousers. I was enthralled by the delicate sheer silk and lace layering, and predictably my favourite looks were the Mark Fast-ish knit mini dresses made more demure and extravagant by being layered over chiffon and shaped lace. My sources disclose that Mark Fast was once an apprentice at Bora Aksu's studio, which would account for the slight influence.

Tomorrow I'll share my favourites from the Aminaka Wilmot.
Hope you enjoy our wobbly finale video :-)

she desires a beat that urges her to move...

Style.com, Cobrasnake

I am definitely one of those girls who loves a monumental party. The kind where inhibitions are non existent, drinks flow endlessly, and hair is swung in all directions to dance inducing music. When I came across images of Another Magazine's NYFW party on The Cobrasnake, my excitement peaked. Impeccable fashion choices paired with mussy hair, smudged eyes, and drinks aplenty. According to Style.com Jefferson Hack was inspired to feed the guests, and even acquired a food stylist to create a buffet resembling the Rolling Stones' "Beggars Banquet" cover. Sounds like one I undoubtedly would have loved to attend.

Going to try and make it to a few shows later at Somerset House. Will document my choice of outfit.
Later!
