Cat and Mouse

AA mesh dress, Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner in Black Ink used to paint nose and whiskers.
(Nell is a Christmas tree and that is not a wig. It is her real blue hair.)

The time is exactly 3:09pm, and the boy and I have just awoken after our first party in Dalston. We very rarely venture east, but the edgier attitude and scene have heightened my hardcore party spirit. I am looking forward to round two.

Last night I discovered I was attending a Halloween Eve bash, and was yet to obtain a costume. A moment of panic ensued, and I realized the downside of possessing an absolute last minute personality. In the end I was a black cat, and fashioned ears out of my lengthy locks, although the boy thinks I looked more like a mouse. I was hoping for Devon Aoki's feline look in Vogue Nippon.
Better luck tonight.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

she ponders beneath shimmering lights...

Vintage blouse and necklaces, AA tank and skirt, Zara boots, H&M thigh high socks and studded bracelets.

The chilly weather has descended upon us, and a fear rushes to the pit of my stomach each time I spot Christmas cards and candy canes at our local supermarket. Is it really the holiday season already?!

I am not one of those who despises winter holidays, but on the contrary anticipate the excitement the next two months bring. Holiday season for the boy and I encompasses swimming in champagne driven gatherings, weekend getaways to quaint European towns, and a Christmas trip to Asia where we, along with the usual, also celebrate a handful of family birthdays. I adore trawling shops for the perfect party attire, last minute plane bookings, and cozy fires, but a slight anxiety always arises at the end of each year. As we count down at December's end, another year passes more quickly than the last, my ages sprints up a digit (my birthday is in December), and I ponder the decisions which must be made as we inch closer to a 'responsible' age. Contemplation swirls about the stability of certain accomplishments, the days that may have been wasted, or the maturing that maybe should have happened. For a procrastinating dreamer who grasps tightly to her youth, a year end can be as daunting as it is pleasurable.

she favors a cosmo filled finale...

Vintage fur and scarf, Sportmax top,AA wet look skirt, Accessorize tights, Topshop boots.

Last night was one of those crisp Autumn evenings brimming with discovery and romance. The boy and I concluded it was time to frequent a new eatery in our local Notting Hill, so spent an hour weighing our abundant options before settling upon El Pirata de Tapas, a cozy yet modern Spanish establishment. We mused over a generous wine list, spoiled our taste buds with a rich selection of mouthwatering tapas, and ended the night fireside at our neighboring bar, Beach Blanket Babylon. The only disadvantage of having your front doorstep surrounded by amazing cuisine and cocktails is the huge hole in your wallet, and maybe an ever expanding waistline. I must make sure to visit the gym before our busy weekend.

she misses you...

When I spotted one of my favourite blogger's, Yvan Rodic of the Facehunter, most recent post about Taipei, I was immediately transported back to my parent's hometown. I still possess plenty of family in the city, and always enjoy visits spent browsing through late night markets, sampling street food, singing karaoke, lazying away at 'bubble' tea houses, and staying up all night watching Asian horror films. A trip to Taiwan is so long overdue.

So I dedicate this post to my two incredibly cute, crazy, and fashionable Taiwanese cousins, who literally take hundreds of pictures a day documenting their lighthearted, hilarious personalities. Katie (bottom right) is on the verge of Asian pop stardom, attended Japan's premier performing arts school, and has been a back-up dancer for Usher. Rachel (bottom left) is still only a young sweet sixteen, studies art in England, and was incredibly stylish from the young age of seven (obviously the influence of her super trendy older sisters).

Miss you guys and promise I'll visit in December!!
(I didn't forget you Kelly, I just don't have any pics!)

she needs her rest...

Topshop boutique blazer, Topshop boots and shorts, H&M and Kabiri bangles, Furla belt, Gucci sunglasses.

Sundays are constantly consumed by late lunches, evening cocktails, and early bedtimes. I enjoy participating as much as I anticipate a peaceful Monday. Today will pass in the company of soup, duvet, and a stack of DVD's. I must acquire a dash of beauty rest before all the action commences later this week.

she works to avoid rainy endings...

Warehouse dress, Topshop boots.

Last night was spent sampling canapes and sipping champagne at my preferred London hotel, The St Martins Lane. I usually dismiss this venue for being overpriced, despite my love for it's minimalistic decor and delicious cocktails, but an invite to a private party was impossible to resist. I pulled out my new favourite dress, braved bare legs, and even laughed through a slightly awkward debacle when a painting (thankfully cardboard) toppled over our table. The night closed with late dining at a quiet Indian eatery, and an annoying rainy search for a taxi home. Lesson of the night: Order a taxi from the restaurant...

Zipped

Disaya S/S 2010

There is something incredibly enticing about an extra large zip. On dresses, leggings, shorts, ankle boots, and now you can even stack them on your wrist. What more could I want?

she has hit repeat...

Topshop tunic and shorts, Versace leather jacket, H&M necklace and bracelets.

I'm currently existing in an endless cycle of late nights, lazy afternoons, and recurring hangovers. My survival would be impossible without jasmine green tea with honey, Ukai sushi lunchboxes, and late afternoon cappuccinos. Hopefully this cycle will be broken in the near future, but until then I've realized it is imperative I acquire the perfect lace miniskirt for tomorrow's party.

she cannot resist...

I posted about my love for Qasimi's S/S 2010 collection a few weeks back, but these backstage images have managed to trigger a full blown obsession. I obviously have an incurable weakness for strong shoulders, gold embellishments, and thigh skimming hemlines.
