The boy's birthday celebrations resulted in a gigantic, unmanageable hangover. I am only now starting to feel human after consuming copious amounts of food, green tea, and orange juice. We calmed the boy's uncertainties about turning twenty-seven with champagne, passion fruit martinis, and too many tequila shots. After hopping around our regular haunts, covering his cheek in red lip prints, and making friends with our new favorite bartender, the boy and I stumbled home only to wake up with splitting headaches, and a flat which resembles a bombsite. My body will be disappointed to hear the actual party takes place Saturday, when the boy and my best friend are holding a Las Vegas themed, joint birthday party. Maybe I'll try drinking more water or turning down a tequila shot or two.
